The radar. One of the things the things that gave Britain the upper hand during the Battle of Britain. It is an object detecting system that uses radar waves to determine the range, altitude, direction, or speed of objects. It can be used on a variety of things like aircraft and missiles. During WW2 a ground radar operator called Arthur Clarke thought of pinging the moon and he did not get anything back. So he had thought of having something in between the Earth and the Moon. He was not the originator of the concept of the satellite but he popularized it and one way of it was through Wireless World, a magazine back in the day. So this has changed our lifestyle and communications. Imagine the world without satellites...

Bombing and Navigation systems were crucial to the success of the Allies. From the GEE to H2S and GH. These systems and machines helped create modern Navigation & targeting systems. The GEE was the first major development in navigation systems. It was an on board set that received signals from England and give a 'fix' of their location. But over increasingly large distances, the signal was weak. The GPS must have originated from the GEE as they work both Navigational systems except the GPS being more modern and can be used globally rather than within a range of a base.
